John, CRNA

Position: Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)

Education: Master of Nurse Anesthesia – Mayo School of Health Sciences- BSN- University of Alberta – Nursing Diploma – St. Boniface General Hospital School of Nursing, Winnipeg, Canada

Describe some of your job duties: Providing anesthesia services for patients at the ASC enabling them to receive the care they need.

What makes working at the ASC special? Definitely the people. Great attitudes and the energy to provide excellent personalized care.

Hometown: Winnipeg, Manitoba

Hobbies: Skiing, biking, woodworking, motorcycles, hanging with the family.

Family/Pets: I have a wife and 2 daughters, along with a dog, Bella. I’m so outnumbered.

What is your favorite movie or TV series: I have to say I’m a big fan of Quentin Tarantino movies.

If you could travel or live anywhere in the world, where would you go? I’m fond of the mountains, but wherever my family is at.

Tom, CRNA

Position: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), Stevens Point Anesthesia Association.

Education: BSN UW-Oshkosh, Mayo Clinic Internship, 6 years Critical Care Septic Shock/Trauma -Mayo. Masters of Anesthesiology Mount Marty College Sioux Falls, South Dakota. CCRN, BLS, ACLS, PALs, and CRNA certifications. Continuing education in Ambulatory Anesthesia and Orthopedic Ultrasound peripheral nerve block techniques.

Describe some of your job duties: Customizing anesthesia delivery to patients needs and procedures implementing modern anesthesia practices of multimodal analgesia. Creating positive relationships with the patients we care for and assisting physicians and staff in meeting the needs and comfort of our patients.

What makes working at the ASC special? Working at the Stevens Point Ambulatory Surgical Center is a dream job. Working in an environment where the employees have so much direct input in patient care is a positive for staff and patients. The small town community feel is very comforting and I am blessed to be able to work with such competent and caring Surgeons and staff. The degree of excellence is difficult to find anywhere.

Hometown: Union Grove, Wisconsin

Hobbies: Spending time with my wife, children and grandchildren. I enjoy spending time in the woods, woodworking, gardening, hunting and fishing.

Family/Pets: Bridget my lovely wife of 34 years, 4 children-Jennifer, Elementary school teacher (husband Mark), Kelly, Occupational Therapist (husband Matt), Bobby, Software Engineer, Christina, Business Major UW-Milwaukee. 4 grandchildren – Norah-4, Lilly-3, Rowan-2, Evelyn -1. Pet- Lena 13 y.o. Silver Lab.

What is your favorite movie or TV series: Anything that has to do with history, documentaries, comedies, sports and The Green Bay Packers.

If you could travel or live anywhere in the world where would you go? I would like to travel to Germany someday to visit the land where my grandparents came from. As far as where I would want to live? I love central Wisconsin and really have no desire to live anywhere else.

Alicia

Position: Surgical Technologist

What makes working at the ASC special? It is in my hometown, and it honestly is refreshing to work with a local company that helps the community.

Hometown: Stevens Point, WI

Hobbies: Painting, hiking, going to local coffee shops, going to the gym

Family/Pets: I have two dogs: a Husky named Colt and a Husky-German Shepard mix named Charlie.

Favorite TV series: Changes whenever something new comes out

If you could travel or live anywhere in the world, where would you go? I would love to travel anywhere, but the top places I’d want to go are Italy, India, and Australia.

Position: Receptionist

What makes working at the ASC special? The people I work with!! They’re a lot of fun!

Dani

Position: Certified Surgical Technologist and Certified Central Service Sterilization Technician

Describe some of your job duties: I scrub in on cases in the operating room, clean and sterilize instruments and serve as another set of hands to assist the surgeons in the operating room.

What makes working at the ASC special? I enjoy the people I work with the most. The surgeons are great and they make it fun.

Hometown: Bevent, Wisconsin

Hobbies: Show shoeing in the winter, spending time with my husband and girls, reading and biking in the summer.

Family/Pets: Husband Matt, three daughters – Aubrey, Brinley and Lucy

Emily

Position: OR Nurse

Describe some of your job duties: I care for patients during their surgical procedure by assisting the surgeon, anesthesia, surgical techs, and the rest of the surgical team with any holistic, patient-centered needs.

What makes working at the ASC special? We are a smaller, close-knit team. We take pride in our work and love what we do! If a patient has multiple procedures at the ACS, they’re likely to see the same faces and have a continuum of care!

Hometown: Wisconsin Rapids, WI

Hobbies: Reading, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, baking

Family/Pets: My husband and I have 1 son and 1 dog so far.

What is your favorite movie or TV series? Depends on my mood! I love a good musical or comedy, but also love watching Ink Master, the Game Show Network, or Outlander.

If you could travel or live anywhere in the world, where would you go? I would love to visit Germany and Spain again! I went to Europe for an exchange program and have family and friends living in both countries – they are beautiful, historical places to travel to!

Kyle

Position: Clinical Director

Describe some of your job duties: Oversight of patient care activities in all phases of care at the surgery center to ensure we provide the highest quality of care to our patients through carrying out our mission and values. Additionally, I oversee medication processes, facility maintenance and cleanliness, facility/equipment quality checks, emergency preparedness activities, radiation program, preventative maintenance, infection control, and staff education.

What makes working at the ASC special? Working with exceptional surgeons and staff that provide extraordinary care to the patients we serve. We have amazing people working here that fosters forward thinking to continue to improve the care we provide.

Hometown: Pittsville, WI

Hobbies: Golf, fishing, hiking, working out, boating, making maple syrup, gardening, and working on house projects.

Family/Pets: 2 cats (Zumi and Teddy), fish, and hamster.

If you could travel or live anywhere in the world, where would you go? Europe: Germany, France, and Ireland.

Laina

Position: Nurse – RN

Describe some of your job duties: Prepping patients for surgery, recovering patients after surgery, educating patients on discharge instructions and preparing patient charts. Also anything else that is asked of me.

What makes working at the ASC special? It feels like family.

Hometown: Stevens Point

Hobbies: Hobby farm with beef, chickens, and pigs. I love to fish in the warm weather.

Family/Pets: Married for 28 years and have three wonderful sons that make me so proud. Have one dog and two house cats.

What is your favorite movie or TV series: My favorite movie is Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

If you could travel or live anywhere in the world, where would you go? I would like to visit all 50 states, have been to 7.

Lynne

Position: Housekeeping

Describe some of your job duties: Cleaning of the ASC, waxing floors and walls and carpets with other projects.

What makes working at the ASC special? Everyone is really nice and I feel like a member of the family if and when I see them.

Hometown: Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Hobbies: Flower arrangements.

Family/Pets: A wonderful son and grandson.

What is your favorite movie or TV series: Any show or movie on Hallmark.

If you could travel or live anywhere in the world, where would you go? Any place where there is warm weather, I don’t like winter.

Nikki

Position: Certified Surgical Technologist and Central Service Sterilization Technician

Describe some of your job duties: I pull supplies to get the surgical cases ready to start, I also clean and sterilize all instruments and scrub in on cases to assist the surgeons during the case.

What makes working at the ASC special? The people and great surgeons.

Hobbies: Going on “adventures” with my husband/family, traveling, collecting walruses, baking, cake decorating, photography

Shane

Position: Administrator

Describe some of your job duties: First and foremost, I help to ensure the absolute best patient experience at the ASC. I also manage, maintain and implement efficient and effective operations.

Is this a Central Wisconsin question where I’m supposed to say my maiden name? Since I don’t have a maiden name I’ll just answer it the typical Midwestern way. I was born in Clinton, IA but moved around a lot while growing up. I graduated high school in Colorado and that’s where my parents still reside so I tend to claim Colorado as home.

Hobbies: I enjoy running, swimming, reading, photography, traveling, camping, hunting, spending time with family and woodwork…just to name a few.

Family/Pets: I am married to my wonderful wife Erin and we have one son

What is your favorite movie or TV series: Chuck.

If you could travel or live anywhere in the world, where would you go?Antarctica—to cross the final continent off my bucket list.

Position: Pre-Operative, Operating Room, & Recovery care Nurse.

Describe some of your job duties: I do everything!

What makes working at the ASC special? Great environment! Great staff! I enjoy coming to work!
